A DAY of Gregorian chanting is being planned for later this year.
The event will take place at St Chad’s College, Durham, and conclude with the singing of Monastic Vespers.
Teaching will come from Philip Duffy, an expert in Gregorian chant, while the Vespers will be sung in St Oswald’s Church.
Singers could also later participate in a re-imagined medieval mass to be celebrated at St Margaret’s Church on Thursday, November 4. The church is celebrating its 850th anniversary.
The chanting event costs £20 for students, £25 for concessions, priests, nuns and monks and £30 for other adults. There are extra optional costs for food and accommodation.
