Charity shop appeals for help

A CHARITY bookshop is looking for new volunteers.

The Oxfam Bookshop, in Durham, has launched a recruitment campaign as part of the charity’s national books volunteering drive, which runs until Monday, March 22.

Shop manager Michael Ridsdale said: "As Oxfam’s book business grows, so does our need for volunteers.

"In the Durham shop it is thanks to our current team of committed volunteers that our book sales raise so much money for Oxfam’s lifesaving work and we are really keen to attract new volunteers to join our fantastic team."

Oxfam has 22,000 shop volunteers, including 4,500 book specialists. In a year, they will work six million hours unpaid for the cause.
