8:12pm Monday 13th February 2012 in Darlington
A BROADCASTER and DJ who has spent time in some of the most hostile places on Earth and presented Live Aid is to tell the story of his life.
Andy Kershaw will appear at Darlington Arts Centre, on Vane Terrace, on March 1, with The Adventures of Andy Kershaw.
He will tell tales from his time as presenter of Whistle Test, when he was in his early-20’s and as a DJ for Radio 1, Radio 4 and now Radio 3.
Mr Kershaw worked with some of the legends of the music industry, including John Peel, the Rolling Stones and Bruce Springsteen and has a record collection weighing more than seven tons.
Despite his muscial leanings he has also carved out a second career as a respected foreign journalist, reporting from Iraq, North Korea, Haiti, Angola and Rwanda, during the genocide, which he will also cover.
Tickets for the event, which starts at 8pm, are £15.
