ARTWORK entered by primary school children as part of an annual competition has gone on display.
Polam Hall Junior School is opening its doors to the public today (SAT) to showcase the art produced by the youngsters.
Polam Hall invited other schools from around the region to enter the competition on the theme of Let’s Celebrate.
The entries were judged by a panel of judges made up of landsape photographer Joe Cornish, retired deputy head Susanne Davison, retired art lecturer Roy Hutchings, retired Art and Design teacher Tony Metcalfe and local photographer Geoff Perry.
Junior school secretary Jan Erskine said: “It was a really good competition with some fantastic entries.”
The work will go on display at the school’s Liddiard Theatre today between 10.30am and 12 noon. Entry is free and refreshments are available.
The winning schools were: Foundation Stage - 1 Polam Hall Junior School, 2 High Bank Nursery; Key Stage 1 - 1 Polam Hall Junior School, 2 Whinfield Primary School; Lower Key Stage, 1 Clifton Pre-preparatory School, 2 Polam Hall Junior School; Upper Key Stage, 1 Polam Hall Junior School, 2 Sacred Heart R C Primary School.
