AN accident involving one of their own cars has prompted police to launch an appeal for witnesses.
The rear-end shunt happened at 10.30am on Sunday in roadworks at the junction of West Auckland Road and Deneside Road, in Cockerton, Darlington.
The accident involved a BMW police patrol car and a Toyota Yaris.
The police car suffered damage to the front bumper and bodywork, while the rear bumper and bodywork of the Yaris was damaged.
Nobody was injured in the accident.
