Police car and Toyota Yaris in collision in roadworks in Darlington

AN accident involving one of their own cars has prompted police to launch an appeal for witnesses.
The rear-end shunt happened at 10.30am on Sunday in roadworks at the junction of West Auckland Road and Deneside Road, in Cockerton, Darlington.
The accident involved a BMW police patrol car and a Toyota Yaris.
The police car suffered damage to the front bumper and bodywork, while the rear bumper and bodywork of the Yaris was damaged.
Nobody was injured in the accident.
Witnesses are asked to contact Sergeant Gary Davison in the south area road policing team on 0345-60-60-365.
