Reward offered for return of antique tool box

A REWARD is on offer for the return of a piece of equipment which fell from a vintage motorbike.

Wallace Holmes is desperate to find the tool box, which fell from his 1912 Rudge TT bike while he was preparing it for a charity run at the end of last week.

The tool box, which has little to no resale value, is an original part.

Mr Holmes, 62, said it fell from his bike somewhere between Barmpton Lane, where he lives, Whinbush Way and Whinfield Road. He said the box is empty, looks like a pie tin, measures about 8in by 4in by 4in, with a leather front and strap on it.

Mr Holmes is due to take the bike down to London this weekend to take part in the Pioneer Motorcycle Run for vintage bikes.

Sunday's run starts in Brighton and ends in London. Mr Holmes, who is raising money for Marie Curie Cancer Support, said he would love to get the tool box in time for the event.

He added: "It is not crucial, it is where my tools go, and it is only small in size, but is a big loss. It's been with the bike since it was made in 1912."

Mr Holmes is offering a £40 reward for the return of the tool box.

If anyone has any knowledge of its whereabouts, please call Mr Holmes on 01325-460554.
