SHOPPERS will gain a new perspective on a town centre after a 92-foot tall giant ferris wheel has been erected for the festive season.

The wheel returns to Darlington town centre for the second year running.

Also part of the festival is The Christmas Extravaganza Weekend, from Saturday, December 12, to Sunday, December 13. The weekend will include displays of chainsaw wood carvings, ice sculptures and street theatre.

* Rides on the ferris wheel will cost £2.50 for adults and £2 for under-12s and senior citizens. Children aged under eight-years-old must be accompanied by an adult.
