OIL paintings from a council collection will go on show in Darlington Library next week.
Darlington Borough Councils collection of paintings include local scenes and will complement an exhibition of Darlington Arts Centre of the Borough Art Collection.
The oil, acrylic and tempera paintings have been photographed to appear in the Public Catalogue Foundations guide to paintings from public collections in County Durham.
The catalogue is available to view in Crown Street library or to buy from the Arts Centre.
The art itself will be on display from July 9 to August 29, 2009. Some childrens activities will be held at the library to coincide with the exhibition.
They are:
* Tuesday, July 21, from 2.30pm to 4pm; help create a larger than life portrait of the librarys dragon mascot. Places must be booked on 01325-349630.
* Saturday, July 25, from 10.30am to 11.30am; create portraits using a range of techniques from painting to collage. Places are free with no booking necessary.
