Police raid yields drug haul

CANNABIS plants with a street value running into tens of thousands of pounds were seized during police raids.

Officers arrested three people following the raid on a house in Jesmond Road, Darlington, on Wednesday.

More than 100 plants were discovered at the bungalow, in various states of production.

Plants were found in the bedroom, the shower room, the toilet, and an upstairs room.

Some were found drying out in the shower room, while dozens more were found in various states of growth. Sophisticated growing equipment was also found.

Sergeant Mo Perwaze said: "The raid, on privately rented property, came after information was supplied about drug production."

A 24-year-old woman was arrested but later released with no further action taken.

A 27 and 29-year-old, both males, were arrested and later released pending further enquiries.

Another drugs raid as usual on another private rented property. Why don't these landlords and letting agencies (time they were all strictly licensed) know what kind of tenants they are renting their properties too? Or do they and if so what are they getting out of it? As the traders say in Bishop about drug centres they can say the same about these type of tenants too i.e. We just don't get why it such a splendid idea to have known addicts with criminal convictions come to Bishop everyday. And why is such a good idea for landlords to have known addict criminals etc ruining an area or you could say most of the town for the decent folk of D'ton?
