POLICE are searching for the owner of a stolen bicycle which was recovered from a Darlington address.
A man was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods in connection with the stolen bike and has been released on police bail while inquiries continue.
The stolen bike is described as an 18 speed Chris Boardman hybrid with a 49cm frame. Its frame number is SA61190771.
A spokesman for Durham Police said police were keen to return the property to its original owner.
“Despite inquiries with local cycle dealers, we have so far been unable to re-unite the cycle with its owner,” he said.
“The owner, if traced, will be required to show proof of purchase before the cycle will be returned.”
Anyone with any information that may lead to the identity of the original owner should contact Darlington Police on 0345-60-60-365.
