A MOBILE phone company has been given permission to replace a football clubs floodlight with a mast.
Planners on Darlington Borough Council have granted T Mobile permission to erect a 20m phone mast at Darlington Railway Athletic Clubs ground.
The company will remove one of the floodlight pylons along the side of the Brinkburn Road ground and replace it with the phone mast.
The mast will be 5m higher than the current floodlight and wider, and will also include a new light.
Two residents in the area had objected to the plans because of the size of the mast and health hazards close to sports pitches.
