DARLINGTON are on the verge of making their third summer signing and it should be completed this weekend.
Manager Tommy Wright is close to adding a forward to his ranks, a player who can also play on the left-wing and previously played for him at Nuneaton Town.
He was last season in League Two and Wright is delighted to have landed one of his transfer targets.
A contract has been agreed with the forward, who is a free agent, and he is expected to follow Liam Hughes and Simon Ainge in joining Quakers this summer.
A week ago Wright, who will work with a smaller pool of players in 2018-19, said he wanted to make three more additions before the squad begins pre-season training, which is on June 23.
Talks with a Championship club about a potential new goalkeeper are ongoing.
Two goalkeepers have been in Wright’s thoughts in recent weeks, and is now optimistic of bringing in one of them on loan for the first six months of the season.
