VISITORS to a charity open day next month will be able to try their hand at leather work, textiles and basket making – and may even spot some dancing sheep.

Demonstrations in greenwood working, blacksmithing and spinning will also be on offer at Clervaux Trust's summer fair at the charity's eco centre off Jolby Lane, Croft-on-Tees, on June 23.

The day will be packed with family fun, including a sheep roadshow.

The show is an educational session about rare breeds and shearing and there will be a chance to meet Lenny the Lancashire long wood, Sam the Suffolk, Nobby the Norfolk Horn and Dougal the Scottish Blackface. The sheep may even dance as part of the show.

There will be a local artist and local produce stalls, including the charity's award-winning sour dough made at its artisan bakery and cafe in Coniscliffe Road, Darlington.

Visitors can also meet the animals, wander around the gardens, and see some newborn black piglets.

The fair takes place from 10am to 4pm. Call 01325 729860 for more information.
