RAILWAY enthusiasts will have plenty of dates for their diaries following the announcement of several events.
Head of Steam – Darlington Railway Museum will host a series of exhibitions, lectures and other activities between May and June.
The museum’s latest programme of events includes a meeting of the North Eastern Railway Association on Saturday, May 19, and a photographic exhibition curated by the group that will open on Tuesday, June 5.
The next afternoon lecture organised by the Friends of the Museum will see Stephen Dyke deliver a talk entitled The History and Development of the Darlington Railway Museum on Thursday, May 3.
Family-friendly activities will run during the May half-term, with every Friday at the museum also now designated Play Friday for Station Scamps.
Regular dementia-friendly sessions take place in the café on the third Wednesday of every month from 11am until 12.30pm.
Curator Leona White-Hannant said: “We have a regular programme of events and temporary exhibitions, so there’s always something of interest for visitors, old and new, to enjoy."
