A YOUNG boys’ football club has been treated to a brand-new kit from its newest sponsor.
Heighington AFC Boys Under-8s recently agreed to a deal with MAF Plumbing, Heating & Gas Service based in Darlington, County Durham.
The company’s owner, Mark Fryer, bought the team a new red-and-black home kit which they sported playing in the league against Byers Green Bees.
Heighington AFC’s manager, John Anderson, said: “On behalf of the whole team, coaches and all the parents we would like to thank Mark for his generosity and I know this is just the start of something special.”
The team celebrated two wins and a narrowly-missed third during the league with goals scored by 7-year-old Sam Innis and 8-year-old Joshua Hill.
As the youngest player, Sam received Man of the Match for his goal and almost scored a second during his team debut.
Mr Fryer, of MAF Plumbing, said: “I have enjoyed the last five years in business and we were delighted to be in a position to support the team with this sponsorship.
“It is important to give back to the local community, and I’d like to wish the boys, coaches and volunteers all the best for the rest of the season and in the future.”
