A NATIONAL demonstrator showcased his skills at a meeting of a historic flower club recently.

Members of the Darlington Flower Club enjoyed a visit from Derek Armstrong, a well-known florist who has hosted demonstrations across the world.

Mr Armstrong, who has also lent his skills to the BBC and ITV for documentaries and period dramas, shared some of his eye-catching arrangements with the club at St Cuthbert’s Church Hall.

Val Curry, spokeswoman for DFC, said: “The ladies enjoyed a wonderful afternoon being entertained by Derek Armstrong.

“His arrangements were fabulous, one of which was similar to one he had created for the front cover of The Flower Arranger magazine.”

The next meeting of the club will be its AGM, taking place from 11.30am on Wednesday, March 7.

Members will share a faith lunch before watching a demonstration by Arthur McDonald entitled Thro Now’t Out.
