DROP-IN sessions are being held across County Durham and Darlington to give residents the chance to meet their Police and Crime Commissioner.

Ron Hogg is visiting a number of communities across the area in a bid to gain a better understanding of local concern.

Residents are encouraged to attend to raise issues they would like to see addressed,

Mr Hogg said: “I want to hear the good and the bad, and hear the positive and negative stories, so that I work with you to identify solutions to help keep our communities safe.”

Residents are also encouraged to come and share their views about the increase to the police element of Council Tax for 2018-19.

Mr Hogg intends to introduce an increase of £8 per year equivalent to 15p per week - for properties in Band A, which makes up 55 per cent of properties in County Durham and Darlington.

Drop-ins begin today in Darlington at The Coleridge Centre from 8.30am until 9.30am and at The Dolphin Centre from 11am until 1pm.

Next week he will visit Stanley, Stanhope, Durham City, Peterlee, Spennymoor, Crook and Darlington.

He will also be visiting a number of AAP meetings from next week in Chester-le-Street, Teesdale, Derwent Valley, Bishop Auckland and Newton Aycliffe.
