A MAN was left with broken teeth and injured ribs in a 'sickening' racist assault outside a McDonald's.

Three teenagers are being sought following the lunch time assault where the suspects were heard to should racial slurs before attacking the man.

The three, described as being in their late teens, made off on foot from the drive-thru at a McDonald’s restaurant off Whessoe Road, in Darlington.

PC Paul Dickenson from Durham Police, said: “The victim was leaving the drive-through when three males shouted a racial slur and kicked the victim’s wing mirror off his car.

“The victim has then got out of the vehicle and they have continued to shout racist abuse before violently assaulting him.

“He was left with several broken teeth and injured ribs.”

The suspects were caught on CCTV following the incident at around 12.30pm on November 27.

They left the McDonald’s drive-thru, believed to be heading in the direction of Meynell Road behind the industrial units towards Appleton Close.

PC Dickenson added: “I am appealing for any witnesses to this unprovoked and sickening assault which happened in the middle of the day.

“I am desperately seeking information to track down the individuals responsible.”
