A TEAM of talented swimmers have been competing in finals as they continue to test themselves against the best in the region.
With 16 swimmers, five of them competing at this level for the first time, Darlington Amateur Swimming Club (DASC) continues to go from strength to strength.
DASC's 12-13-years-olds competed at Sunderland Aquatics Centre at the end of October with the senior and junior Championships took place at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre Sheffield at the beginning of this month.
Despite coming home without any medals, many members of the squad set new personal bests and did themselves proud.
Head Coach Glen Fenby was delighted with the level achieved by the swimmers.
He said: "We are continuing to raise the bar and it is most pleasing to see their hard work in training paying off in races at a Regional Level. The Scottish National Championships is coming up next in December and that will really test our squad."
Team manager Les Mooney added: "Year on year the improvement is impressive and we are certainly heading in the right direction."
