A CARE home manager has been shortlisted for a national award recognising her work in Darlington.

Jo Crook, service manager at Hollyhurst, a care home and nursing facilities for adults with learning disabilities, has been nominated as Care Home Manager of the Year.

The National Care Awards celebrate those working in the care sector who go above and beyond to provide consistently outstanding care.

The 18-bed Hollyhurst hospital, part of the Danshell Group, off Woodland Road, supports adults who are living with a learning disability and complex needs, as well as mental or physical health needs.

Sharena Record, Danshell Group’s divisional managing director for the central division, said: “I am delighted that Jo has been recognised for the fantastic work she does leading the team at Hollyhurst.

“The team puts the people they support at the centre of everything they do and this is reflected both in the well-deserved award nomination and in the recent CQC report.

"I am very proud to work with such inspiring people.”
