A SCHOOLBOY inspired by engineering has toured the base of an industry giant after impressing bosses with his own builds.
Oliver Doswell, eight, built dozens of Lego structures after visiting Darlington's Festival of Ingenuity last month.
His proud father, Mark Dowell, tweeted images of small-scale copies of machines his son saw during the festival.
His creations caught the attention of Cleveland Bridge and the youngster was invited to tour the firm's Yarm Road factory.
Oliver said: “Visiting Cleveland Bridge was amazing. I have been looking forward to going for ages and it was very exciting.
"Everyone was really friendly and it has made me want to be an engineer even more than I did before.”
