A SEARCH has been launched to find performers to take advantage of a new plug-and-play theatre when it comes to town next month.

Roundabout, which loads onto the back of a lorry, arrives in the Market Square from Thursday, October 5 to Sunday 8 as part of Darlington Theatre Town.

Organisers are looking for acts specialising on spoken word performance that lasts no longer than ten minutes and are suitable for a family audience.

All performers chosen for a slot on the day will be given a free family ticket to the Darlington Hippodrome family pantomime, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

The theatre town project is a new initiative aiming to bring ambitious and high quality theatre to the town.

It brings together the expertise from groups including Creative Darlington, Darlington Hippodrome, Luxi, Theatre Hullabaloo and ODDMANOUT.

Anyone interested in being considered send your name, contact details and a short outline of your act to nicola.craggs@darlington.gov.uk

Applicants must be 14 years or over.
