AN animal welfare charity is hosting a gala dinner to help improve the lives of its donkeys and horses.

Brooke is hosting a dinner at Headlam Hall, near Darlington, on November 3.

The charity operates in Africa, Asia, America and the Middle East, and works with more than two million affected animals.

Caroline Robertson, the charity's senior regional fundraising officer based in County Durham, said “Everyone loves a great evening out, fantastic food and wine, fabulous company and conversation.

"We are looking forward to a truly magical evening at the stunning Headlam Hall Country Hotel & Spa. Brooke is grateful for the generosity and support of the local community and the money raised from the evening will help Brooke continue its vital work improving the lives of some of the world's most vulnerable horses, donkeys and mules."

Tickets for the event, which starts at 7pm, cost £50, and there will also be a silent auction, a luxury raffle and Brooke’s ‘Mane’s & Tail’s’ table game.
