AN artisan pudding company has tickled the tastebuds of farm shop consultants to one of region’s finest stately homes.
The farm shop at Castle Howard, between York and Malton, is now stocking Burtree Puddings’ sticky toffee, chocolate, lemon and gluten-free sticky toffee varieties.
And it could be one of the most prestigious deals for the business, based on the edge of Darlington, for which this is the first historic house it will supply.
Lea Darling, co-owner, said: “It is really wonderful to know that our products are sitting among some of the best regional food and drink produce at the farm shop because we know that they choose their suppliers very carefully.
“We make our puddings with heart and to our own recipes so we hope people will enjoy taking them home to share with the family after a day out at the estate or perhaps if they’ve just popped in to the farm shop on site.”
