A TEENAGE schoolboy has been injured after being struck by a car this morning.

The incident happened in Stanhope Road, Darlington.

"Police responded to a report of a 14-year-old boy being hit by a car on Stanhope Road, Darlington, at approximately 8.35am this morning," said a spokesman for Durham Police.

"The young man suffered back, neck and head injuries, and an ambulance attended the scene. He was taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital.

"The road is open, and traffic is running as normal."
