SCHOOLCHILDREN have been told about one drummer’s experiences of Rockin’ All Over The World in legendary rock band, Status Quo.
Jeff Rich, who played with the band between 1986 and 2000, visited Corporation Road Community Primary School in Darlington to deliver a percussion masterclass.
The drummer discussed a range of different drums from across the globe before performing himself and giving pupils an opportunity to play in his bid to encourage youngsters to pick up instruments.
Following last week’s visit, Mr Rich said: “I was extremely impressed with the behaviour of the children.
“I have visited a lot of schools all over the UK and I will definitely remember Corporation Road with fond memories.
“The staff made both my technician and myself very welcome and nothing was too much trouble for them.
“I look forward to returning again in the not too distant future.”
Ann Pringleton, headteacher at the Lingfield Education Trust site, said: “The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience and it was an honour to welcome such a highly esteemed musician to the school.”
