SYRIAN families are preparing to host a banquet for the community that has welcomed them.
Refugees who have settled in Darlington will work with charity volunteers to cook and serve a Middle Eastern feast on Saturday, May 13.
The Taste of Syria will be a family-friendly event featuring traditional music and the opportunity to join in with Syrian dancing.The food will be authentically prepared by families and volunteers from Darlington Assistance for Refugees to cater for all diets.
All funds raised will be donated to charities working to support displaced families in and from Syria.
Tickets, available from Guru Boutique, are £5 for adults, £2 for under-tens and free for under-threes.
