STAFF from a self-storage company have handed over a cheque for more than £15,000 they raised for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The team from Darlington’s Dainton Group Services set themselves a target of raising £5,000 for the charity but they exceeded all expectations and have raised £15,411 in the last 12 months.
They took part in a number of activities which included climbing Ben Nevis, taking part in a Mini car rally and organising a charity football match.
Bridget Hill, local fundraising manager for Macmillan, said: “We promise to put the money they have raised to very good use. All of the money we spend comes from voluntary donations and without people like you and your customers we would have nothing to spend. I am delighted that you smashed your fundraising target.”
