ANTI-FRACKING activists will host an awareness raising event later this month.

The Reclaim the Power collective will visit Darlington as part of a nationwide tour devoted to teaching communities how to resist the fracking industry.

On Monday, February 27 a workshop will be held alongside a film screening at the next event organised by Waking Up to Climate Change and Darlington Film Club.

The documentary Disobedience, which focuses on resistance around the world, will be shown following the workshop hosted by Reclaim the Power.

Louise Graham, from Waking Up to Climate Change, said: “Come and find out what we can do locally to stop this destructive industry and how to support those taking non-violent direct action in North Yorkshire and beyond.”

Doors to the event open at 5.30pm, with the workshop beginning at 7pm and the film screening from 9pm.

A variety of vegan food will be on sale from 5.30pm until 7pm.

The event will take place at The Forum. Admission is free but donations are welcome.
