A DOG whose remarkable looks earned him celebrity status has finally found a new home.

Fester, a one-year-old boxer, was left to roam the streets as a stray before being taken in by canine carers at Dogs Trust Darlington where his distinctive features have been turning heads ever since his arrival.

As well as having one remarkably light blue eye and one dark brown eye, Fester was born with a narrow jaw to give him his unique appearance – however, none of his unusual traits have any implications on his health.

Since an appeal was launched to find Fester a home, the distinctive-looking dog has had plenty of interest from potential owners.

However, Alan, Tammie and Vivien Blair have adopted the “fun-loving” boxer and are looking forward to continue training the pup up.

Mrs Tammie Blair, said: “When we saw Fester online we knew instantly he was the one for us as all of his little quirks just made him even more appealing.

“At one-year-old, we fully expect Fester will need further training as he is still a puppy, but we are looking forward to getting him settled at home and seeing his personality really shine through.”

Canine cares at the rehoming centre had originally been concerned Fester’s appearance would leave him overlooked by would-be owners, however he received national attention over his looks.

Sue Embleton, rehoming centre manager at Dogs Trust Darlington, said: “Everyone at the rehoming centre is thrilled Fester is moving on.

“It is always sad to say goodbye to our dogs, but knowing they are going to a loving family who will nurture them is the most rewarding part of our job.”
