A FAMILIAR face from the small screen has set his sights on the stage to reprise a character last seen on the cobbles of Coronation Street.
Steven Arnold, who is best known for playing Corrie butcher, Ashley Peacock, is set to return to the role as part of a pantomime opening in Darlington this month.
Mr Arnold will play the part of King Ashley in Sleeping Beauty, which will run from Thursday, February 23, to Sunday, February 26, at the Majestic Theatre, off Bondgate.
Mr Arnold said: “It’s the first time I’ve gone back to being Ashley since leaving the cobbles, but this time I’ve got a shiny crown to go with it.
“We’re really looking forward to performing in the Majestic because it’s very cosy and that’s great for getting everyone involved and getting the audience going.
“Everyone should bring an umbrella if they’re sitting the front row.”
- Tickets are £10 or £35 for a family of four.
