A SEVEN-year-old schoolgirl has seen her long locks lopped off for charity after begging her family to have her hair donated to help cancer-stricken children.
Tori-Leigh White, a schoolgirl from Darlington, has helped raise more than £400 towards the Little Princess Trust and will have her hair made into a wig for youngsters who have lost their own hair through chemotherapy treatment.
The seven-year-old, who attends Firthmoor Primary School, was inspired to help others after her mother, Gemma McKay, endured a cancer scare two years ago.
Since then, little Tori-Leigh has been supported by her siblings, who donated their pocket money to the cause, and her classmates, who took part in a whacky hair day fundraiser.
Following Tori-Leigh’s brave haircut earlier this month, Ms McKay, of Pateley Moor Crescent, said: “We have had a brilliant response.
“It was very emotional but she’s very happy.”
