A STUDENT is celebrating becoming the first in her college to secure a place in a prestigious army training centre.

Chloe Dent has received an unconditional offer to attend the Royal Military Academy in Sandhurst.

The 17-year-old Darlington College student is looking to peruse her dream of becoming an officer in the Queen Alexandra’s Royal Army Nursing Corps.

Chloe, who lives in Northallerton, will begin her 42-week officer training in March next year and leave Sandhurst as a second lieutenant.

“I have always been interested in the military - it really is what I want to do even though the military work in dangerous conflict zones around the world,” she said.

“I have really enjoyed the course at Darlington College and I am thrilled to have made it into Sandhurst,” she added.

Her tutor Gary Paxton added: “Chloe thoroughly deserves her success as she is a brilliant student, with a positive attitude and high degree of enthusiasm.

“I look forward to her completing her training when I will be very happy to salute her on her achievement.”
