MYSTERY surrounds why a car on Darlington's Yarm Road has been wrapped in clingfilm.
The blue 56-plate Ford Focus also appears to have had its locks filled with some kind of foam substance.
The unusual appearance was causing heads to turn as workers made their way into town on Tuesday morning.
Whether it is a prank or not is not clear.
The incident appeared rather hurried compared with some other similar incidents across the country.
The one below, from County Durham, looks a lot more professional, for example.
Bob Oliver is a fan of practical jokes and after being pranked himself by his future stepson, who attached a less than PC sticker to his rear bumper, he decided to get his own back.
While the young lad was away at a gig, he wrapped his car in industrial shrink wrap.
"It took about ten minutes to complete. I would have loved to have been there when he returned complete with hangover from a gig in Manchester!" he said.
