DARLINGTON Civic Theatre is set to re-open next autumn just in time for the panto season to get underway after a multi-million revamp.
The restoration, which will result in the theatre being rebranded as the Darlington Hippodrome, includes the creation of a new bar in the former water tower, improved and additional seating, better disabled access, a gallery area, and improved backstage areas for the theatre to accommodate larger touring groups.
Running from Saturday, December 9 next year until Sunday, January 14, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs will be the first major production at the newly restored theatre.
Theatre director Lynda Winstanley said: “Pantomimes during the festive season are always a special time in the year for families at the theatre. I can’t wait to see what is in store with this enchanting story.”
- Tickets will be on sale on Tuesday, January10 at 9am for online purchases and 10am for telephone bookings.
- The cast of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs will also be announced later in 2017.
