MORE than a hundred people took to the streets of Darlington to promote peace and positivity recently.
The second Walk for Peace saw a diverse crowd walk through the town, visiting a number of places of worship along the route.
It was organised by Darlington for Peace in a bid to bring together people of all faiths and none in a show of community spirit.
After visiting venues including St Augustine’s Church, the Atisha Kadampa Buddhist Centre and the Jamia Mosque, walkers enjoyed a meal at the Sikh Gurdwara.
Organiser Matthew Snedker said the success of last year’s walk inspired the event, adding: “Darlington for Peace were very pleased to see such strong support again this year.
“Once again the event brought together communities from around the town and demonstrated a desire by ordinary people of Darlington to live in peace and understanding.”
