A HEART-WARMING puppet show with themes of growing up and letting go kicked off the 2016 TakeOff Festival in Darlington.
The 45-minute show, In a Nutshell, opened at the Quaker Meeting House yesterday and was the first event in the town to mark this year’s regional TakeOff Festival.
The show was created by PuppetShip in collaboration with visual artist Tanya Axford, with a specially created musical score by Ziad Jabero.
It was performed by Alison McGowan and Elena Miller and followed the fortunes of Little Acorn who wakes up too early to find that it’s always winter, never spring.
In a quest to find breakfast for his friend Robin, Acorn embarks on an adventure that takes him to the edge of his world and beyond.
The show is one of several being performed across the North-East as part of the TakeOff Festival which runs until the end of October.
