AN ACCLAIMED performer fresh from a sold-out run of shows at Edinburgh Fringe Festival will bring his thought-provoking work to Darlington.

Joe Sellman-Leava will explore his childhood experiences of growing up with a mixed heritage, alongside broader issues of racism and immigration.

His show, Labels, will urge an audience in Polam Hall’s Liddiard Theatre to consider words used every day to describe members of society from a range of backgrounds and upbringings.

Mr Sellman-Leava said: “We’ve now had the pleasure of performing Labels 170 times since we started touring in 2015.

“Each time, without fail, people are eager to talk afterwards about their own experiences of labelling and prejudice.”

Tickets for the 7pm show on Saturday, October 1, are £12.
