CHANGES to bus services calling at stops in Darlington will be affected by road closures and resurfacing works this week.

Passengers travelling on Arriva North-East’s Service 2 route, which connects Yarm Road, McMullen Road and Red Hall, will face some disruption with scheduled stops cancelled until Friday, September 30.

Overnight closures along stretches of McMullen Road between 7pm and 7am planned for each night this week, will see Service 2 terminated at McMullen Road’s roundabout.

No journeys will stop at McMullen Road, operating instead via Yarm Road, the A66 and the bypass to Red Hall.

An Arriva spokesman said: “Regrettably, on Tuesday, September 26 to Friday, September 30 – inclusive – before 7am, we will be unable to serve Red Hall.

“The first journey from Red Hall will be at 7.14am on each of the four mornings.

“We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause, however these roadworks and circumstances surrounding it are entirely beyond the control of Arriva North-East.”
