A RECEPTIONIST from Sadberge is set to run 10km to raise money for charity.

Gemma Eddy, 23, has chosen to run in this year’s Kielder Marathon to help raise funds for Dogs Trust.

Miss Eddy is a volunteer at Dogs Trust Darlington and helps out whenever she can by taking part in fundraising events, donating pet supplies and sponsoring dogs.

She said: “I’m just an average girl who wants to put herself out there and make a difference.

“A dog is for life and I just want to be able to help give them a bright future.”

So far she has raised £130 for the trust but says her aim is to reach at least £500 before the run which takes place in October.

She has completed countless marathons including the Great North Run and Darlington 10km but said she has chosen the Kielder Marathon for this cause specifically because she finds it the most challenging.
