A MUCH-LOVED musician and artist will be remembered at a Darlington gig.

Tony Wilkinson was known for his vibrant artworks, love of live music and motorbikes.

The popular 52-year-old died earlier this year, leaving his family and the town’s music scene in mourning.

Mr Wilkinson’s band Lost Rockers and Sky Babies will pay tribute to their lost friend during a memorial gig at The Forum on Friday, August 5.

Lost Rockers member Mattie Ramone said Darlington’s music scene was reeling following the recent losses of Mr Wilkinson and other supporters Tom Whitton and late Cllr Joe Lyonette.

He said the upcoming gig would bring people together and pay tribute to Mr Wilkinson.

Mr Ramone said: “He was incredibly talented, full of life, up for a laugh and a genuinely nice bloke.

“Losing him was awful, the music scene in this town is so close and it’s still very raw for all of us.”

Tickets for the gig, organised by Mr Wilkinson’s wife Kerry, are £5.

To book, call the venue on 01325 363135.

Proceeds will go to the children’s heart fund at the Freeman Hospital.
