A MACHETE branded with the words “Vectra Distroyer” has been seized by police after it was found on the back seat of a car.
The large knife was taken from a vehicle by special constables in Darlington after it was found among a pile of workmen’s tools.
A Durham Police spokeswoman said: “The machete was seized from an uninsured vehicle that was insecure.
“The vehicle was also seized later that day after being driven in the Grange Road area of town.”
Other weapons are believed to have been seized during the incident on Wednesday, June 22.
An officer involved in the discovery took to social media to tweet: “Do you think it’s okay to carry this on your back seat?”
