FAMILIES enjoyed all the fun of the fair at Darlington’s new leisure development this weekend.
Throughout Saturday and Sunday, scores of people flocked to the recently opened Feethams development to enjoy its official launch party.
The team behind the £30m scheme hosted a two-day festival to celebrate its grand opening.
Feethams Fest saw visitors to the complex enjoy traditional fairground fun with hoopla and hook-a-duck stalls.
Aspiring musicians were invited to try their hand at playing a colourful piano while youngsters had their faces painted and met Darlington FC’s mascot, Mr Q.
Film fans were given the opportunity to watch a free screening of children’s favourite Ice Age 3 at the new Vue cinema.
The development’s marketing manager, Rachel Gough, said the event represented the first of many.
She added: “It has been absolutely fantastic, the sun has been shining and we’ve had so many families come down to see us.
“They’ve all had fun and it’s great for us because it really helps us raise our profile.
“We’ve created jobs but now we want to become a real part of the community.”
