A NORTH-EAST association has raised thousands for a cancer charity.
The Thermal Insulation Contractors Association (TICA) – based in Darlington - raised £7,523 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
A year of fundraising events saw association members and apprentices take part in a host of activities.
Auctions, charity golf games and cake sales helped to boost donations to the charity.
TICA chief executive Marion Marsland said: “It’s been a great effort.
“Thermal insulation apprentices from all over the country have contributed with amazing generosity during their time here at the national training centre and our industry members have joined in wholeheartedly.
“It’s such a worthy case and it has been a pleasure to do our bit to support this excellent charity.”
The next year will see TICA devote their fundraising efforts to Help for Heroes and Care After Combat, whose trustee Simon Weston will be the guest speaker at TICA’s upcoming AGM.
