STUDENTS have celebrated their academic achievements in a combined graduation ceremony.

Graduates and guests gathered to reap the rewards of several years studying after successfully completing higher-education courses at Teesside University and Darlington College.

Friends, family and college staff joined in the celebrations at Teesside University that saw students pick up academic accolades from a wide range of courses.

Degrees in education studies and business management were given out alongside foundation degrees in hospitality management, journalism and computing.

Several graduates also achieved Darlington College higher level professional qualifications.

Kate Roe, Darlington College principal, said: “The students’ success is testament to the special relationship we have with the university and our shared commitment and vision to the town of Darlington, the economy and future generations of students.

“Our graduates work hard to achieve their success and it was great to be able to congratulate them and also pay tribute to their families, partners and friends for the vital support they have offered.”

Teesside University’s pro-vice chancellor Simon Hodgson and Darlington College’s Ms Roe were also joined by Darlington Mayor Tom Nutt for the ceremony.
