YOUNGSTERS can enjoy a week of spooky fun at Darlington Libraries during half-term later this month.

Ghosts, ghouls and bats will be the order of the day for a series of Halloween-themed activities.

The fun kicks off on Monday, October 26, 10-11am, when Crown Street Library will host a Hoots Halloween Party full of animals, magic and storytelling. The session is for children aged four years and above and costs £3 per child.

Also on Monday, local author and visual storyteller Kay Wilson will hold a special storytelling session with puppets at Crown Street Library, 2 -2.30pm, for youngsters aged up to six years. The event is free and does not need to be booked.

Children’s book illustrator Liz Million will lead Halloween-themed arts sessions on Wednesday, October 28, for children aged five years and above.

Liz will be at Crown Street Library in the morning, 10am-11.30am, and will then move to Cockerton Library in the afternoon, 1.30-3pm. Each art session costs £2.50 per child.

All places should be booked and paid for in advance at either Crown Street or Cockerton Library.
