DARLINGTON FC’s outgoing chief executive officer has stressed that talks are continuing to try to get the club playing back in its hometown.
Martin Jesper has stepped down after three years at the helm but has made it clear that the club’s ongoing talks with Darlington Rugby Club over a groundshare at Blackwell Meadows will continue.
He told The Northern Echo on Saturday: “Nothing has changed; we are still in discussions with the rugby club trying to resolve the various matters so that we can get back into the town as soon as possible.”
Mr Jesper added that he personally let the rugby club board know in advance of his plans to leave Darlington FC and that he wished the future ground share discussions every success.
