A 74-YEAR-OLD woman is in hospital with serious injuries, after being struck by a car on Monday evening.
Police have appealed for witnesses to the collision, at the junction of Yarm Road and Neasham Road, in Darlington.
The woman was crossing the road close to the roundabout at the junction, when she was struck by a red Ford Fiesta.
A spokeswoman for Durham Police said: "The pedestrian was airlifted to the James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, with injuries which are described as serious but not life-threatening.
"The driver of the car, a 23-year-old woman from Darlington, was uninjured."
Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call Durham Police's collision investigators on 0191-375-2159.
