WAYS to cope with stress were explored during an event at a Darlington park.
Visitors to South Park, in Darlington, were encouraged to find ways of combating stress through positive activities at the Day in the Park event today (Tuesday, August 25).
The event, which was held at the old bowling green, was organised as part of a UK Youth Parliament campaign to improve mental health.
Visitors to the park could take part in various activities, including Pilates and circus skills, and representatives from a number of organisations were on hand to offer advice and support.
Durham’s Police and Crime Commissioner, Ron Hogg, also attended the event.
Mr Hogg, who has included mental health in his Police and Crime Plan, said: "This event is an excellent way to raise awareness of the issues that people with mental health problems face, regardless of their age or personal circumstance.
"As well as giving people advice and support, this also helps to bring partners together to improve the services available to sufferers."
